Exclusion
It may be necessary in very rare cases to exclude a pupil from school. There is a clear procedure for this outlined below. However it should be noted that the school does not have to accommodate any child at lunchtime. If a child's behaviour causes distress to any other child or effects their own Health and Safety, we will ask parents to collect them at the beginning of lunchtime and take them home until the start of afternoon school.
a) All exclusions must be notified immediately to the Governing Body giving full reasons.
b) Parents or guardians are then informed, indicating reasons and length of the exclusion.
c) Individuals may now be excluded up to 45 days in any one year.
d) A letter is forwarded to the School's Officer, the Education Welfare Officer and the Behaviour Support Team.
e) A parent or guardian may make representation to the Governing Body regarding the exclusion. Back to top
