 Within these four categories, children will have experience of: -

  • A basic vocabulary for such terms as texture, pattern, colour, shape, line and form.
  • Appreciation of the different characteristics of different media through their direct use and observation of work produced by professional artists.
  • Developing skills in the use of tools e.g. brushes of different sizes, scissors, sponges, rollers, clay, chalk and pastel.
  • Experiencing progression in patterning, printing, model making, picture making.
  • Working from direct observation and developing these skills in large and small compositions.
