Wherever possible, Science will be made relevant to pupils by relating it to their everyday experiences. Through this, children can learn to discuss issues that may affect their own lives, the direction of society and the future of the world. We address all the skills and content required within the Science National Curriculum twice during Key Stage 2, once in years 3 and 4 and then again in years 5 and 6 at higher levels of understanding. The process skills which will be developed include: Science has an important role to play in developing the whole child, as it encourages such qualities as curiosity, perseverance and critical thinking. Science is exciting because it thrives on interaction and exchanging of ideas, which in turn enhances understanding and enthusiasm.
